It's time to keep the momentum going, and partner with all stakeholders and service providers to put all our energy and focus on achieving United Nations #sdg4qualityeducation by 2030. We should leverage the positive change and promote the integration of non-profit resources from, , and others to bring more parity in education standards among school students across the world. On the positive side the pandemic has enhanced the adoption of technology among school students across all economic backgrounds which otherwise wouldn't have been easy to achieve. My two cents on the way forward: Technology has really enhanced the quality and effectiveness of education & learning in the upskilling sector (Coursera, Udemy, UNP - United Network of Professionals, etc) and can play a key role in the K12 segment too. And the problem existed even before the pandemic due to disparities in the standard of the school, teachers, and economic background of students and their families. Were a nonprofit with the mission to provide a free, world-class education for anyone. It doesn't come as a surprise how the average proficiency of school students in core subjects has dipped since the pandemic. In these exercises, the app focuses on color and simplicity. I would love to work with a small group of elementary kids to improve their reading once a week! With them, youll have to complete different exercises geared toward children from 2 to 6 years old. Right now, solutions are what is the most important. I don’t think we can point fingers and blame politics. A significant portion of the kids lost time. And then I had a poor kid who came to his sessions but his mother was in the background in her pajamas in the kitchen and the sister was on the computer and I heard her teacher’s voice so loud I could barely hear our conversation. It was hard, even though I told him he was “at school“ and needed to sit up. I had a rich kid who I had to teach while he was lying in his bed with a blanket. As a reading teacher I spent most of my day staring at a blank screen waiting for kids to come on whether they were rich or poor. One of my middle school colleagues was teaching to little blank squares having no idea who was on or who wasn’t. We had rich kids and poor kids who had checked out during the hybrid model. It was an unprecedented administrative crisis and they were pulling at straws. As someone who was in the trenches during that stressful time, I am not really sure it was a political issue.
